PAS is pleased with the coroner’s verdict on the death of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.

Party secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said police must immediately set up a special task force and reopen the investigation.

“Police should accept the coroner’s decision.

“PAS is confident that police will bring all those (responsible for Adib’s death) to justice,” he said in a statement.

The coroner’s court today ruled that Adib’s death was the result of a criminal act.

Coroner Rofiah Mohamad said the blunt force trauma to his chest was not caused by an accident but by two or three persons who had dragged him out of the emergency medical rescue service vehicle.

“I am also of the view that police and the Federal Reserve Unit had failed to control the riots and had contributed to Adib’s death,” she said at the Shah Alam High Court.

PAS hopes that the contempt case against the attorney-general will proceed without any hindrance.

“This is to ensure that public confidence on the AG is upheld,” Takiyuddin said. – September 27, 2019.
