PARTI Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has shot down claims that its assemblymen will jump ship.

“We’ve noticed there is talk that several PBS reps will leave the party,” said information chief Joniston Bangkuai after a meeting with three of the party’s assemblymen today, following rumours that PBS will lose reps to Parti Warisan Sabah.

“We – Tamparuli rep Jahid Jahim, Kundasang’s Joachim Gunsalam, Matunggong’s Julita Mojungki and myself (Kiulu) – met this morning. We reiterate that we will stay in PBS, and we will never betray voters’ trust.

“Fellow PBS rep Abdul Rahman Kongkawang (Labuk) was not able to join us, but we believe he will continue in the party,” he said in a statement.

Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal has called for a special conference later today.

It is rumoured that Shafie, who is also Sabah chief minister, will announce the crossover into his party of several PBS assemblymen. – September 27, 2019.

  • Its a big mistake joining Warisan.. too many questionable decisions at Warisan. The party appears to make decisions that are biased and based on its convenience to achieve its own goals, not necessarily in the interests of the people or state.
