MALAYSIA has stepped up efforts to bring back fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho from the country he is currently in, said Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador.

Hamid hopes to bring back Low, also known as Jho Low, from an unnamed country by the end of the year.

“I have not set a deadline but I hope to bring him back by the end of the year. I am confident it can be done.

“I have stepped up pressure so that they will agree. I will not name the country he is hiding at as the negotiations are ongoing,” he said during an interview with Malay-language daily Sinar Harian today.

Hamid said Malaysia has an extradition treaty with the country the businessman is based in currently.

Hamid said intelligence suggests Low used his wealth to buy influence and is able to roam freely in the country he is in.

“He is free to move around and do business in that country.

“Low, who is wanted, is sly, has a wicked agenda and is using the money to buy influence,” he said during the interview. – September 25, 2019.

  • We have so.... many poor Malays in Malaysia as ckaimed by all Malay politicians. Why Najib allowed 40 billions RM taken by a CHINESE Malaysian out of the country? Why can't he give all this money to the poor Malays in Malaysia. B40 make up 12million poor Malaysians. If all the money given to the poor, one family can get more than 10,000RM. Why given to a Chinese and not the poor Malays? Isn't it true that UMNO fight for the Malay community?
