Former MACC chief Said Hamdan dies

FORMER Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief Ahmad Said Hamdan died last night at his daughter’s home in Rawang. He was 67.

MACC deputy chief commissioner (prevention) Shamsun Baharin Mohd Jamil said Said will be buried at the Kota Damansara Muslim cemetery after Zohor prayers today.

“Over the past six months, Said had been admitted to the National Heart Institute several times for heart complications and stroke.

“Last week, doctors allowed him to return home, and he was taken to his daughter’s house in Rawang.

“May Allah bless his soul and place him among the righteous.”

Said was MACC chief from May 14, 2007 to December 31, 2009. He was succeeded by Abu Kassim Mohamed. – Bernama, September 23, 2019.
