PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has issued another reminder to vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin to attend leadership meetings, saying her request for a special “reconciliation” meet is unnecessary as they can see each other during scheduled meetings.

Anwar said the political bureau meetings are held every Wednesday, while central leadership council meetings are held every month.

“All are welcome to attend. Tea and coffee are served,” Malaysiakini quoted him as saying after attending a Malaysia Day event in Kota Belud, Sabah.

Anwar, also the Port Dickson MP, was asked about Zuraida’s repeated calls for a special meeting to bring together Anwar and supporters of PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali, who have been absent from party meetings for some time.

The feud between the two factions has worsened since June, after the emergence of a sex video implicating Azmin.

Azmin has denied being in the video and called it a plot to destroy his political career.

Anwar also rebuffed speculation of his alleged involvement in the sex video.

PKR has not taken any action against Azmin, preferring to wait for police to conclude their investigations. – September 17, 2019.
