Johor exco man charged with graft


JOHOR state executive councillor Abdul Latif Bandi was charged today with 33 counts of graft involving a total of about RM30 million.

The former state housing and local government committee chairman was charged jointly with another person – Amir Sharifuddin Abdul Raub.

They were charged under Section 28(1) (c) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act.

MACC director Masri Mohd Daud is the prosecutor and is assisted by Raja Amir Nasruddin. Hasnal Rezua Merican is representing Abdul Latif.

Bail was set at RM2 million each in one surety each. Both were ordered to surrender their passports. – April 19, 2017.
