POLICE shot dead three suspected robbers in a shoot-out after a 7km high-speed chase at Bandar Country Homes in Rawang early today.

Selangor police chief Noor Azam Jamaludin said police from the Serious Crimes Department (D9) encountered the suspects in a red Volkswagen Polo about 5am.

“My men instructed them to pull over but they refused to follow orders. They then decided to speed off and we gave chase for about 7km before the robbers were cornered.

“Realising that they had nowhere to go, two of the robbers fired shots at police and we had to return fire. All three were killed,” said Noor Azam at a press conference in the Gombak police today.

Noor Azam said police found two pistols, a machete and several ski masks in the car.

“The car used by the robbers was reported stolen last month in Rawang and the owner was the one who had alleged that the police was late in responding to a 999 call,” Noor Azam added.

He said the trio might have been looking for a house to break into.

Noor Azam said 60 house break-ins were reported in Selangor from May to September.

“In most of the cases, it happened between 3am and 6am. We are determined to lower the number of such cases and apprehending the syndicates.” – September 14, 2019.

  • Very good SOP, always robbers fire first then police return fire and kill all. Keep it up.
