Queen urges cops to stop arresting online haters, ‘trolls’

RAJA Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah said she is upset that the police have detained those who allegedly insulted her in her first post after reactivating her Twitter account.

“As I said, I deactivated not bcos I was upset by comments made but for personal reasons .. BUT TODAY I M TRULY UPSET THAT POLICE HAVE DETAINED THOSE PEOPLE ... thru the yrs, my husband n I have never made any police report on bad things said about us ... its a free country…,” she tweeted via her @cheminahsayang handle.

The #AmpunTuanku hashtag trended on Twitter as netizens tried to convince the queen to come back on the social media platform after she deactivated her account last Wednesday.

She said her daughter, Tengku Puteri Afzan Aminah Hafizatullah Al-Sultan Abdullah, alerted her of the police action against those who allegedly insulted her.

Tunku Azizah said she was upset and angry over the incident, prompting her to activate her account.

“Afzan alerted me earlier ‘mama Police has detained 2 people!’, I wad sad and ANGRY & activated myTwitter straight away, I had not intention for them to be detained by police, I told the palace police to tell the police not to take action, I repeat again, I deactivated not bcos of THEM.”

In a subsequent tweet, Tunku Azizah told the people to take a chill pill.

“CHILL people .... like my daughters always tell me ... CHILL MAMA , whenever i m upset!”

She added that although she and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, have faced online trolls, the royal couple have never once lodged police reports.

“All this time me and my husband was denigrated, accused, roasted and insulted on http://cari.com.... we have never made any police reports…and I have never been sad in fact I laughed when I read…because Allah knows who I am!”
