POLICE are still on the hunt for PKR man Farhash Wafa Rizal Salvador Mubarak, although the victim whom he had allegedly assaulted in a brawl on Merdeka night has retracted his police report.

Selangor CID chief Fadzil Ahmat said in a statement today that the complainant had lodged a separate report to withdraw his initial report on Thursday.

However, the matter will still be referred by police to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for further action.

Farhash, the political secretary of PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, is still on the loose.

“Farhash, who is the main suspect, has yet to turn himself in, and I urge him to do so as soon as possible to assist in the investigation,” said Fadzil. 

Five men, who are Muay Thai coaches, were detained and remanded earlier this week to aid the investigation.

Fadzil said four of the five will be released later today while the other will be handed over to the Cheras police for drug-related offence.

Police previously said that Farhash and 10 others allegedly assaulted a boxing coach outside Kompleks D’Star Arena on Merdeka Day.

During the 9pm incident, it is believed that a fight broke out between Farhash and the boxing coach at the complex in Ampang. The ruckus began when the suspect arrived at the centre and pushed the boxing coach in the face, police said.

Farhash said in a statement recently that he was ready to give his full cooperation on the matter, although a police report was made naming his brother.

He also said that the complainant had once attempted rape and sexually assaulted his wife two years ago, adding that he was arrested and faced trial for the charges.

Farhash, who is also PKR Perak chief, was thrust into the limelight recently when he was arrested, along with Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz and seven others, over police investigations into several sex videos implicating Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali.

Farhash was released on July 23 after being detained for eight days.
