SABAH PKR leaders today they were unaware of former Umno man Salleh Said Keruak and former Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin’s plans to join the party as membership applications are done online.

State PKR chairman Christina Liew said she had no knowledge of any such developments.

Her deputy Mustapa Sakmut told The Malaysian Insight even though membership applications were now made online, they would still by vetted by the state council and division chiefs.

“If they had applied, we would know but so far we have not received their applications,” he said.

Mustapa, who is the Kota Belud PKR chief, said he would have received their applications if Salleh and Pandikar had joined the party.

Mustapa said Sabah PKR would issue a statement on the matter later today.

Salleh, formerly the Umno information chief, has kept a low profile after losing the Kota Belud seat in last year’s elections.

He joined the United Sabah National Organisation (Usno) but quit in August.

Pandikar, meanwhile, left Umno late last year and joined Usno as adviser.

The former Dewan Rakyat Speaker was previously rumoured to be eyeing the Usno presidency.

Usno leader Musli Oli, meanwhile, dismissed a Free Malaysia Today report saying Salleh and Pandikar would be joining PKR as speculation. – September 6, 2019.
