SIX areas in Sarawak are seeing unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 9am today.
Sri Aman is the worst hit with an API score of 166, followed by Miri (133), Kuching (125), Sibu (123), Samarahan (120) and Sarikei (109).
Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee secretariat head Major Ismail Mahedin said new hotspots were detected this morning in Serian, Betong, Bintulu and Miri.
He said there were 455 hotspots in Kalimantan and seven in Sumatera in Indonesia.
An API score of 0-50 is good, 51-100 (moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy) , 201-300 (very unhealthy); and 300 and above (hazardous). – Bernama, September 6, 2019.
