AFTER a short lull, half a dozen more sex video clips implicating Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali have been released on social media.

Just like before, the clips were shared in a newly formed WhatsApp chat group.

The group with more than 80 media members and politicians is called “Video Terkini Azmin (Azmin’s latest video)”. It was set up at 3.35am today.

Six clips of about three minutes were shared. They appear to be edits from the same video that were shared with reporters in June and which have kept resurfacing since on various channels, including YouTube.

Politicians added to the group included Defence Minister Mohammad Sabu, Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad and Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Salahuddin Ayub.

Umno Supreme Council member Lokman Noor Adam was also in the group.

The series of sex clips feature two men in bed together. The clips were released in quick succession before the scandal they caused appeared to have died down.

Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz had admitted it was him in the video, and claimed the other man was PKR deputy president Azmin. Haziq has since been fired from the party.

He said the video was recorded without his consent in a hotel room in Sandakan in May.

Azmin has denied being the man in the clips, which he said were an attempt to end his political career.

In July, Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador said Cybersecurity Malaysia found the video to be authentic but facial recognition failed to link Azmin to one of the two men featured in it.

Lokman however had claimed that Indonesian and UK experts he hired to analyse the video confirmed the duo to be Azmin and Haziq.

Eleven people have been detained over the case including Haziq and Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, who is PKR president Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary and Perak PKR chief.

All of them were subsequently released on police bail.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Huzir Mohamed also assured that the case is still being investigated under Sections 377B and 292 of the Penal Code, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Sections 377B and 292 of the Penal Code deal with carnal intercourse against the order of nature and the dissemination of obscene material, respectively. Section 233 of the CMA pertains to the improper use of a network service or application.

Earlier this week the police said investigation papers had been forwarded to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for further action. – September 5, 2019.
