THERE is no vacancy in the cabinet, said Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday.
“We are not adding, making any change, or increasing the number of cabinet members.
“There is also no discussion on portfolio changes,” the prime minister and Bersatu chairman told a press conference after the party’s supreme council meeting in Putrajaya.
He was asked whether he will bring PKR president Anwar Ibrahim into the cabinet.
“Since nobody has indicated their intention to resign, we have no vacancy.
“When we have a vacancy, we will consider suitable candidates.”
Dr Mahathir last week reportedly mentioned possible changes in ministers’ portfolios, but ruled out a reshuffle. – Bernama, August 30, 2019.
