SOME 200 supporters of Parti Warisan Sabah today braved the rain to attend the Kota Kinabalu Court, which was issuing the remand orders for two of the party leaders.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission is expected to apply for an extension of Warisan vice-president Peter Anthony’s remand order, which expires today. MACC is also applying for a remand order for the party youth chief Mohd Ajiz Jamman.
Anthony was arrested last Friday, along with a 54-year-old businessman by MACC investigating allegations that RM1.5 billion of federal funds were embezzled through the rural and regional ministry from 2009 to 2015, when Warisan president Shafie Apdal was the minister.
Yesterday evening, MACC detained Ajiz, along with the Tenom Umno Youth Chief Jamawi Jaafar and Tawau Umno Youth Chief Ariffin Kassim.
Also present at the court were Warisan vice-president Junz Wong and Warisan secretary-general Loretto Padua. – October 10, 2017.
