THE body of a white female was been found in the Jeram Toi rainforest in Seremban, Negri Sembilan but authorities have yet to ascertain if it is that of missing British teenager Nora Anne Quoirin.
Negri Sembilan Police Chief Mohamad Mat Yusof confirmed that a search and rescue team found a body this afternoon.
“Yes, we found a body. We are still investigating,” Mohamad said, without going into details.
Mohamad said rescuers were alerted by a man who found the body at at 2pm.
“We received information from a man who found the body 2km away from The Dusun eco resort.”
“My deputy and the Nilai police chief went to the scene.
“It was a white, female body but no confirmation as just yet,” he said when asked if it was the body of the missing 15-year-old.

It is learnt that the parents of the missing teen were taken to the scene to identify the body.
The 15-year-old Quoirin went missing on August 4 from her villa at The Dusun resort.
She had arrived with her parents and siblings from London for a two-week holiday the day before.
A search party equipped with sniffer dogs, helicopter, and drones was deployed to look for the teenager.
Police also went knocking on the doors at least 30 houses and villas near The Dusun in search of the teenager.

A hotline for the search and rescue operation was also launched.
Her parents earlier told police that Nora had problems walking and that she suffers from holoprosencephaly, an abnormality of brain development in which the brain doesn’t properly divide into the right and left hemispheres.
Yesterday, her parents announced a reward of RM50,000 for information leading to the return of their daughter.
The money was donated by an anonymous Belfast-based business. – August 13, 2019.
