POLICE from the United Kingdom, France and Ireland are here to help in the search for British teen Nora Quoirin who has been missing for more than a week.

Negri Sembilan deputy police chief Che Zakaria Othman told reporters the foreign officers have been in the country since last week.

“Police personnel from Ireland, France and from London are all here since last week. They are helping us with the investigation,” he said.

“However I can’t tell you what sort of support they are offering.”

Asked if the cops are also seeking the help of local shamans, Che Zakaria refused to comment.

He said the search and rescue team today hiked up Gunung Berembun for the first time to look for Quoirin.

Quoirin went missing a week ago from her villa at the Dusun Pantai Hill eco resort in Seremban located 69km east of Kuala Lumpur.

She was last seen on August 3 in the bedroom that she shared with her two  siblings.

Despite deploying hundreds of rescuers including using sniffer dogs and drones, no sign of Quoirin has been found.

Police have also gone knocking on the doors at least 30 houses and villas near The Dusun in search of the teenager.

The police have also invited media personnel to join in the search.

A hotline for the search and rescue operation was also launched. Those with information on the missing teenager can call 011-1228 5058.

Her parents earlier told police that Nora had problems walking and that she suffers from holoprosencephaly, a condition that causes an infant to be born with a smaller brain. – August 12, 2019.
