THE mother of missing British teenager Nora Quoirin today thanked security personnel involved in the search-and-rescue mission of her daughter.

Meabh Quoirin together with her husband, Sebastian, acknowledged rescue workers’ efforts while search operation enters its seventh day.

“We want to thank you each and every one of you. We know you are searching night and day for Nora. We see you working so hard and praying with us.

“We know you have given up your time, especially at this special festival time to be with us. It means to the world to us and we are grateful for everything you have done for us and everyone here helping us. We hope we can find Nora, thank you so much,” said Meabh at the main gate of the Dusun Pantai Hill resort near Seremban today.

It was the couple’s first public appearance since their daughter went missing from her bedroom at the forest resort last Sunday.

Meabh, Sebastian, Nora and her siblings checked in at the hotel a day earlier.

Sebastian realised Nora was gone from her bedroom about 7am before lodging a police report at 11am.

Nora left the villa in her underwear and traces of her have yet to be found by rescuers.

Police have deployed hundreds of personnel, including elite commandos from VAT69 and jungle trackers, Senoi Praaq unit.

Drones equipped with thermal sensor-imaging device were also used in the search.

Police have lifted several fingerprints from a window left ajar at the villa but have not disclosed their findings.

Police are also using the recordings of Meabh’s voice in a bid to lure the teenager out of the Jeram Toi rainforest, which sits next to Gunung Berembun.

Her family said the case should be treated as an abduction but police have said there was no evidence to support the claim at this point.

Locals who spoke to The Malaysian Insight also said it was unlikely that the girl had been abducted. – August 10, 2019.
