A POLICE corporal was arrested after allegedly firing several shots outside an entertainment centre in Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.
A source said it is believed the 33-year-old officer was under the influence of alcohol when he fired into the air, purportedly to break up a fight between his girlfriend and a few other people.
No one was injured in the 5.25am incident, said the source, adding that security guards at the entertainment centre apprehended the officer and handed him over to police.
Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department head Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed the arrest of the policeman, who has been remanded for two days to facilitate investigations. – Bernama, August 5, 2019.
