MORE than a million households in the Klang Valley were hit by an unscheduled water supply disruption today after pollution was detected at the raw water source in Sg Selangor, Syabas announced this evening.

Syabas had earlier today activated its “Code Red” emergency action plan, but did not say when supply would be restored.

In a statement this evening, the water concessionaire said three water treatment plants had to be shut down due to the pollution.

The disruption affects 1,133 areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat, Syabas said. – July 19, 2019.
