UNDER-FIRE Mohamed Azmin Ali hit out at Anwar Ibrahim today after the PKR president suggested that he quit as economic affairs minister if there is truth to the sex videos in which he is implicated.

“Look at the man in the mirror.

“Read my lips, tell him to look in the mirror.

“Ask Anwar to ‘muhasabah diri’ (carry out self-introspection) and reflect on himself,” the PKR No. 2 told reporters at the Parliament lobby.

Anwar earlier today said Azmin should quit his cabinet position if it is confirmed that the latter is one of the men in the leaked videos.

This will depend on police’s findings, said the Port Dickson MP.

“My initial view is for him not to resign. It will depend on the investigation. If the investigation is conclusive, in terms of the act’s participants, then I think he needs to resign.

“But if we haven’t ascertained the truth and veracity of the people in the videos, then he has the option,” said Anwar when asked by reporters at the Parliament lobby if Azmin should step down or go on leave first.

He added that PKR rejects gutter politics.

Last month, several clips showing two men engaging in sexual acts were released via WhatsApp.

Former PKR political aide Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz subsequently “admitted” to being one of the men in the videos, and named Azmin as the other.

Anwar’s political secretary, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, is among the nine people arrested over the last three days for the alleged production and circulation of the videos. – July 17, 2019.
