THE Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) today arrested a Malacca assemblyman from Umno, who is expected to be charged tomorrow in the Ayer Keroh Session’s Court.

In a statement, MACC chief Latheefa Koya said Sungai Rambai assemblyman Hasan Abdul Rahman was detained together with Khuzaimah Abdullah, both of whom have been released on bail.

“MACC detained Hasan Abdul Rahman as the chairperson for Sungai Rambai State Assembly Development and Coordination Committee (Japerun) together with a clerk Khuzaimah Abdullah.

“Hasan was (formerly) the exco for Malacca and was in charge for the State Assembly Development and Coordination Committee,” Latheefa said.

The case is classified as misuse of funds in relation to a “strategic linkage” initiative under the National Blue Ocean Strategy programme in 2016. – July 8, 2019.
