MOHAMAD Sabu missed an important meeting with Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad in London on June 16 due to a flight delay, a Defence Ministry statement said.

The defence minister was supposed to have boarded Malaysia Airlines flight MH0002 from Kuala Lumpur to London on the night of June 15 but the flight was delayed for two hours and 30 minutes.

The statement said Mohamad was to have made a stopover in London just to meet with Dr Mahathir, but due to that delay, he could not make the appointment.

The statement said Mohamad was on his way to France for an official trip when the meeting was called for in London where the prime minister was on a three-day working visit.

“What happened was regrettable. Malaysia Airlines should ensure that such an incident does not recur,” the statement read. – June 24, 2019.

  • A defense minister that doesn't have a backup plan over a flight delay - now that is highly regrettable!
