HAZIQ Abdullah Abdul Aziz, who claims to have been involved in an affair with Mohamed Azmin Ali, has been sacked from his position as senior private secretary to the deputy primary industries minister.
In a statement today, the Primary Industries Ministry said Haziq was terminated on June 18, after he was issued a show cause letter.
“The ministry views his actions as against the values, ethics and rules of the civil service including those outlined in the general orders and his terms of contract,” it said.
“As a result, the ministry has decided to terminate his services, effective on June 18.”
The deputy primary industries minister had professed to being shocked by Haziq’s recent allegations, including that of being Azmin’s lover.
Shamsul Iskandar Akin said he rejected any form of dirty politics to besmear the reputation of an individual or party leadership
“I would like to stress that all his allegations were shocking to me and completely unexpected.
“I hope all parties will stop making baseless allegations that I had a certain agenda when appointing Haziq – so please stop doing so,” Shamsul said in a statement on Monday
Haziq had last week said he and Azmin were the two men in a series of sex videos that went viral.
He had later lodged a police report to defend himself from accusations that his confession was prompted by a political agenda.
Selangor Criminal Investigations Department chief Fadzil Ahmat confirmed Haziq made the report.
Haziq had claimed to have had multiple sexual encounters with Azmin over the past three years.
Azmin also faces calls to go on leave pending police investigation into the sex clips.
Last Friday, however, PKR president Anwar Ibrahim said no action would be taken against Azmin, who is his deputy, and Haziq, who is the Santubong PKR Youth chief, to avoid exacerbating matters.
Haziq and Azmin have been questioned by police, who have formed a task force to investigate the case.
CID chief Huzir Mohamad had said that Haziq is under investigation for four offences, including sodomy and distribution of obscene material.
“He is being investigated under Section 377B for committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for the improper use of network facilities.
“He is also being investigated under Section 292 of the Penal Code for the sale or otherwise of obscene material, and Section 504 for the intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.” – June 20, 2019.
