LOKMAN Noor Adam has been arrested mere hours after giving his statement to police over the sex scandal implicating Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali and a PKR Youth leader.

Selangor police, in a statement last night, said the Umno Supreme Council member was detained at his home in Kajang about 7pm by Bukit Aman officers.

Also arrested was former Padang Serai MP N. Gobalakrishnan, who was at Lokman’s house at the time.

“Lokman did not cooperate with police, who requested to check his mobile phone. He refused to hand over the phone, and hurled insults at the officers present,” said the statement.

“Gobalakrishnan, too, obstructed police from carrying out their duties. He yelled at and provoked the officers.

“Both men were arrested for obstructing civil servants from discharging their duties and using vulgar language (against the officers).”

It was reported that prior to his arrest, Lokman was questioned by police after he lodged a report over clips allegedly showing Azmin and Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz having sex.

“I lodged a police report against those who circulated the obscene videos, and those who acted in them,” Malaysiakini quoted him as saying.

“Today, I was summoned by Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department. They wanted to seize both my phones, and search my home. Truly, (this is the) law of the jungle.”

Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, has denied being in the clips, calling them a “nefarious plot” to destroy his political career.

Haziq, meanwhile, has been suspended from his post as an aide to the deputy primary industries minister. – June 14, 2019.
