POLICE will not be involved in the special task force looking into the disappearance of Pastor Raymond Koh and Perlis Hope founder Amri Che Mat.

Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador said any statement on the task force will be issued by the Home Ministry.

“Police will not be involved (in the task force). If we are involved, it (task force) will appear lopsided, and the public will not have any faith in it… so, it’s for the Home Ministry (to handle),” he told Bernama today.

In April, the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) inquiry into the missing activists held that state agents, namely police’s Special Branch, were responsible.

On May 23, the government said a special task force would be established to look into Suhakam’s findings.

Koh, 64, was abducted by a group of masked men in Kelana Jaya on February 13, 2017, while Amri, 44, went missing on November 24, 2016. – Bernama, June 13, 2019.
