SANTUBONG PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdul Aziz remains in the post as no decision has been made regarding his claim to have had sex with deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali, said Anwar Ibrahim.

The PKR president said the party’s political bureau did not reach a decision on Haziq’s status at its meeting today.

Haziq is also principal private secretary to Deputy Primary Industries Minister Shamsul Iskandar Akin.

“We will discuss Haziq’s status. We will also study the matter more closely and get the input of lawyers, and discuss it again in a few days. As of today, there is no decision,” Anwar told reporters after the meeting at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

He added that Shamsul Iskandar will make a decision on Haziq’s position as his aide.

“It is up to the deputy minister to make an announcement at the right time.”

There have been calls for Shamsul Iskandar to suspend Haziq after the latter “confessed” to being in clips showing two men having sex, and named Azmin as the other individual in the said clips.

Anwar said PKR does not intend to lodge a report over the clips, which were disseminated yesterday, as police have stated they are investigating the matter. – June 12, 2019.
