THE police are confident they will be able to arrest fugitive Low Taek Jho soon, because his location is now known, according to Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador today.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the Taman Tun Dr Ismail Ramadhan Bazaar, Abdul Hamid said that Low, or Jho Low, would be brought back to Malaysia to face charges soon.
“He will be detained soon, because know his location,” Abdul Hamid said.
Last week, he said the cops had new leads on the whereabouts of the Penang-born businessman wanted for his alleged involvement in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal.
The IGP however, declined to reveal the nature of the new leads obtained by his men.
“I am serious (about the new leads) but have patience. Where he plans to hide… won’t be safe for him. We will bring him home because everyone is waiting,” he said.
Jho Low faces criminal charges related to 1MDB but has refused to return to face the courts, saying that he has no confidence in the government and the judiciary. – May 30, 2019.
