A THOROUGH investigation will take place over an alleged molestation and assault case involving a former telco chief on his daughters, said Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Although the deputy public prosecutor issued a no further action (NFA) on the incident, she said, the allegation of sexual assault on the children is a serious matter.

“I was made to understand that the DPP has issued a no further action on the matter after they received reports from hospital, police and other relevant authorities.

“However, we regard this incident as a serious one as it involves minors. It is a concern to us. I believe the authorities will probe this matter further,” said Wan Azizah, who is the minister of women, family and community development.

According to The Star, police are re-examining reports against the man who allegedly molested and outraged the modesty of his children.

The move follows the arrest of the CEO on Thursday for allegedly trespassing on his former wife’s home and making death threats against her and her family.

He has been released on bail.

According to the English-language daily, the ex-wife had lodged at least 15 police reports after she divorced the man in 2015, but all were classified as NFA (no further action) by the deputy public prosecutor.

Bukit Aman Sexual, Women and Child Investigations Division (D11) principal assistant director Assistant Commissioner Choo Lily confirmed that police had begun investigations into these reports.

The Star said it sighted copies of the earlier reports against the former CEO for sexually molesting his two children, then aged 10 and 8.

In a report made on May 8, 2015, the older child allegedly told a counsellor that her father made her hold his penis while he was lying beside her.

The mother brought the two girls to the counsellor after “suspecting something amiss”.

The Star, which stated it had seen video of the counselling session, said the children “graphically” recounted some of the abuse to which they were subjected.

A police report was lodged and the counsellor also filed an affidavit with the Kuala Lumpur shariah court stating that he was ready to testify as he was legally obligated to report any immoral activity done to children. – May 25, 2019.
