Fortunes do come when a person has position and power. It is normal for anybody to receive fortunes, only legality is the question. As a politician, he must not take anything extra from the Rakyat. What you gain is because of the honours conferred to you by the rakyat. So, serving the rakyat is your priority.

What manner of roundabout talk is this? Normal to receive fortune when in power? You must be an ah pek trying to justify his own past.

No. I accept my earnings from my own work. You said it is normal to receive fortune with position and power. Such fortune only comes from unethical gratification (legal or otherwise, since it may be legal to be appointed a director in a GLC but unethical to do so). If you are an entrepreneur or employee, monetary success is a byproduct of effort.
