A FESTIVE aid for the civil service ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration will be announced soon, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today.

“There will be. We will announce later,” he said briefly when asked by reporters as he was leaving the national Teachers Day celebration in Penang today.

Earlier this week, the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) asked the government to consider giving bonus to civil servants and retirees before Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Cuepacs president Azih Muda told the media that he had written to the prime minister and finance minister, and spoken to the chief secretary to the government on the matter.

He proposed that every civil servant be given a bonus of RM1,000, while retirees from Grade 54 and below be given RM500 each. – May 16, 2019.

  • PM Sir, civil servants have a decent job and salary... You should be giving Raya bonuses to the FELDA settlers who have been ignored by Felda, FGV and the Group.
They are suffering sir.. This Bulan Ramadhan bonus for the Felda Settlers would mean a lot to them because the Settlers are getting far less than that has been promised them.. They are also expected to repay loans that they were being forced to take in FGV IPO. Its all a failure Tun Dr M. Please help the Settlers..
