A YEAR has passed and Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s speech on May 9, on the first anniversary of 14th general election, sets the tone for clear narratives for our nation’s socio-politico-economic construct. The first year of Pakatan Harapan administration has been neither here nor there, a step forward to be followed by another backward, with no clear narratives on the direction our nation is heading.

The keywords in Dr Mahathir’s speech were: shared prosperity, income inequality, new development model, rural-urban divide, fair and equitable, inclusivity, and justice. Although the PM’s announcement has yet to be in the form of an official document, the central theme of shared prosperity gave a clear dictate and the driving principle for our nation’s development in the next 10 years.

  • Lets not be a hypocrite to write something or comment something just to get a feel good factor. This is what Malaysian political leaders , NGOs , statesman and even journalist are good at. Always brushing and camouflaging the truth with no serious intentions of righting a wrong. Words and mere worsd to fool many. Tell me honestly what is shared prosperity??? Robbing the rich race to give out to poor race. Is there anymore rich race in Malaysia now ???? oh yes unless if we are talking about a particular well fed niche group of Umno putras and their cronies thru their ketuanan policy have carved out the well laid plan to enrich themselves. Realistically most Malaysian are just ordinary folks, maybe some of the middle class and higher but are all in the similar fate in eking out a living in the country still laden with economic woes . So nice and comforting to hear and read the above message ------ "to ensure that all people will benefit from the nations wealth fairly and equitably.that all these initiatives under its promises will be fulfilled so that all future achievements will be based on inclusivity, justice so that the nations wealth will be shared by all based on the spirit of shared prosperity. How ??? when the country directives are tipped to the stronly enforced "Malay Agenda Economy" !!!!! Sadly it is with full knowlege by all and sundry and even the government itself that hardship and economic imbalance are not prejudicial in sorting out by color, race ,creed or religion. With all the PH Malay Ministers vociferous cries in ensuring the Malay Agenda supported by the Opposition Malay leaders foolishly ballyhooing their bangsa dan agama without any apprehension by the PH Government itself sure do tell something different isn' it. With such a heavy load breathing down everyone's neck it is only a bullshit and hot air notion floating aimlessly.
