THE defence minister and his deputy must outline their plans for the ministry as nothing has been done in the past one year, said Hishammuddin Hussein.

Hishammuddin, who held the portfolio before the general election, told FMT that Mohamad Sabu and deputy Liew Chin Tong have only been finding fault with the previous administration.

“What are Mat Sabu and Chin Tong’s plans for the future? Our armed forces have the right to know,” Hishammuddin was quoted as saying.

He aadded most of the army camps in the country need to be upgraded.

The former Umno vice-president has challenged the duo to prove that he benefitted from land swap deals struck under his tenure.

He was referring to Mohamad’s disclosure earlier that 13 of the 16 land swaps carried out during Barisan Nasional’s administration, involving Hishammuddin and former prime minister Najib Razak.

Mohamad also said the government has lost more than RM500 million from these land swaps.

“I challenge Mat Sabu and Chin Tong to prove that I have personally benefitted financially and politically.

“My advice to them is that if they live in glass houses, don’t throw stones.”

The 16 land swaps took place in Jalan Ampang in Kuala Lumpur, Tanah Batu Uban in Penang, Bukit Raja in Selangor, Pientong in Johor, Tanah Rata in Pahang, Bandar Kinrara in Selangor, and Stampin in Sarawak. – May 12, 2019

  • What plans is Hishamuddin talking about? Privatising Army land to cronies and UMNO division chiefs. Best to lie low in case MACC gets a tip off to investigate the former Minister for his past misdemeanors in office.

  • Two things ------being edgy and signs of desperation due to fear OR displaying some courage knowing that he has someone backing him up to be not prosecuted . I think it is both as nothing is yet affirmed !!!!

  • With the recent mini skeletons dug out in the Ministry, someone is now tying to throw mud and divert attention before more and bigger skeletons come out. PH had no plans to rob and steal from the Ministry.

  • Hisham you gave way the land deal to your cousin thus that's the reason you are now shouting if you can be implicated to it. You had to give way as your cousin and his wife was plotting the moves while he was the defence minister you were there just as a care taker. In return for your deeds to him you were given a free hand with the highway concessionaires DUKE operator as you have your rep there in Ekovest and that's your pot of gold given by your cousin. You are a disgrace to the Onn family.
