PARTI Warisan Sabah has banned Special Branch officers from attending its press conferences, reported FMT today.
Warisan vice-president Junz Wong told the news portal that the officers will not be allowed into any press conference as they are not invited.
“If they want to request it, they should identify themselves and not pretend to be reporters,” he said.
“It has been the norm in the past for the police to send their Special Branch personnel to cover government and opposition events. Under the present Warisan government, that practice is no longer in place,” said the state agriculture and food industry minister.
Wong affirmed that the police have no business attending press conferences.
However, the new ruling was condemned by bloggers who said it had been usual practice for Special Branch officers to be present at political functions or press conferences.
Blogger Ronnie Klassen told the news portal that the person who enforced the new ruling was the chief minister’s own “media consultant”.
The “media consultant” was a former journalist in Sabah and is on Shafie’s payroll, the blogger alleged. – May 12, 2019.

At this rate, Warisan will lose the state seat at the next election..
It was s obvious Dr M sees this happening that why his presence is needed in Sabah.
Sabahs Warisan should throw out their egos and must be ready to accept their weaknesses and work with all coalition parties, in particular Bersatu and make it happen for SABAH ppl. You only have another 3-4 years..
