CABINET members are working overtime tomorrow to present to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad policy papers on how to create more jobs for the people, said Saifuddin Nasution Ismail
The domestic trade and consumers affairs minister said this was decided at last week’s cabinet meeting, after Dr Mahathir indicated he wanted a meeting with the ministersthat was not subjected to time constraints.
“When the people have jobs that give them an income, they can live in more comfort. This is very different from just giving them immediate aid, like the previous administration did.
“While we still give aid to those who need the financial help, we have to look into creating more job opportunities and facilitating investments and businesses.
“The prime minister expects the cabinet members to give ideas on how we can grow the economy more dynamically,” he told reporters at the Penang legislative assembly today.
Saifuddin, who is the Pantai Jerejak assemblyman, said ministers with ideas can submit policy papers at tomorrow’s 3pm meeting.
“I have done mine. The finance minister and health minister have done theirs.
“Mine is on cost of living issues, which is the main area under my ministry.
“There is need for the government to improve policies to address issues like imbalance in the supply chain, which benefits one party instead of the majority, the consumers.”
The Pakatan Harapan administration is nine days from marking its first year in Putrajaya since ousting Barisan Nasional.
Public sentiment towards PH now is not as positive as last year, with the people complaining about undelivered election promises and no improvement to the high cost of living. – April 30, 2019.

Why are the Receivers appointed to manage SFI obstructing the sale of the ailing company (SFI) to the local company, when the local company is willing to take over the obligations of managing the ailing SFI as well as pay salaries.. after all the S&P has been signed.
Why are the Receivers obstructing the S&P from going through? Are they working with other parties with special interests? Why isnt the Sabah Labour Ministry assisting the 1,000-odd employees who have been laid off? Why hasnt any media picked up the issue?
And yet at the federal level, the ministers and PM are working so hard to create jobs for Malaysians..
What has the Sabah CM has to say about this?
