MUHYIDDIN Yassin has shot down any suggestions that he helm the Johor government again.
The Bukit Gambir assemblyman said he had led the state government before and it is not reasonable for him to take the post again.
Muhyiddin, however, said he is willing to help the next menteri besar.
“As a former MB and currently the Bukit Gambir assemblyman, I see the importance of the Johor state administration being managed well, Johor moving forward and that it can benefit many people. That’s a priority.
“Hence, as one of the former MBs, I will assist anyone that is chosen by the sultan to be the next MB so that everything goes well,” the Bersatu president and home minister told a press conference at the Subang Maritime Air Station today.
Johor opposition leader and former senior exco Hasni Mohammad yesterday suggested Muhyiddin to helm the state.
He said he will forward Muhyiddin’s name as the next menteri besar to Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
Hasni said he had been granted an audience with the Johor sultan tomorrow.
“Why not Muhyiddin? He has the experienced where he had also been Johor’s former menteri besar, a deputy prime minister, and was once Umno deputy president.
“Muhyiddin is also the Bukit Gambir assemblyman and that qualifies him not only as a member of the Johor legislative assembly, but also for the menteri besar post,” Hasni was quoted as saying by The Malay Mail yesterday. – April 11, 2019.
