FORMER prime minister Najib Razak took a jibe at Pakatan Harapan after it was stated in Dewan Rakyat today that the wife of a VVIP did not purchase a pink diamond.
“Oh really?” Najib wrote on his Facebook page, along with a post of a news report of Deputy Finance Minister Amiruddin Hamzah speaking in Parliament on the matter.
Amiruddin earlier today told the house that the pink diamond linked to a high-profile case was not purchased by the wife of a VVIP and that it was a sales agent who had brought the piece along with other jewellery into the country for the woman’s viewing.
Amiruddin also said that the sales agent had declared the jewellery to Malaysian Customs.
Najib took the opportunity to mock the PH government, saying Putrajaya had made all sorts of allegations and lies against him, including claiming that he committed murder.
Amiruddin had been responding to Wong Hon Wai’s (DAP-Bukit Bendera) question in Parliament.
Wong asked if there were any Customs Department forms filled and excise or customs duties paid for the jewellery.
Amiruddin today did not mention Rosmah by name, but past reports have linked the pink diamond to her.
Indictment papers by the US Department of Justice have named wanted businessman and alleged mastermind of the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal, Low Taek Jho, as the buyer of the pink diamond.
Previously, Najib said the diamond was a gift to Rosmah from United Arab Emirates royalty. – April 8, 2019.

But isnt this the SOP all this while. And I dare say, it continues no matter who is in power.
But as Prophet Noh Omar has proclaimed, no crime unless you are caught.
