LEMBAGA Tabung Haji (TH) has denied that depositors are making large-scale withdrawals, saying transactions at all branches are normal.

Managing director and CEO Zukri Samat dismissed as baseless claims on social media that depositors are making major withdrawals following the announcement on the fund’s low hibah, or dividends, for last year.

“Our branches are reporting normal transactions. In fact, they are also receiving additional deposits,” he said in a statement today.

Zukri said TH will lodge a police report against those spreading such rumours and creating anxiety among depositors.

He assured depositors that their savings are safe, adding that TH is committed to generating sustainable income to optimise returns, and is focused on helping Muslims save and prepare for the haj. – Bernama, April 8, 2019.
