11 killed in MASKargo workers’ bus crash

TEN foreign workers were killed in a bus crash near the MASKargo area in Sepang last night.

Also killed in the accident, which occurred about 11.10pm, was the bus driver, a local, said Kuala Lumpur International Airport district police chief Zulkifli Adamshah.

He told Bernama that nine victims, including the driver, died at the scene, while the other two died at Serdang Hospital and Putrajaya Hospital.

Zulkifli said preliminary investigations revealed that the bus was ferrying 43 MASKargo contract workers, all foreigners, from their hostel in Nilai to their workplace when it plunged into a 20m-deep drain.

He said those injured were sent to Serdang Hospital, Putrajaya Hospital, Banting Hospital and Kajang Hospital.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident, he said. – Bernama, April 8, 2019.
