ECONOMIC Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali once again dismissed rumours that he will be appointed deputy prime minister.

The Gombak MP told reporters at the Parliament lobby today that he has not heard of the rumours as they had no basis in fact.

“The cabinet is focusing entirely on ministerial matters; there are so many things that needs to be done.

“We have been given the mandate by the rakyat to deliver and to improve the (government) delivery system, so, for the last nine months, we have been on the ground and engaging  and consulting with stakeholders and the rakyat.”

He said such rumours had no place in the government’s efforts to honour its promises to the people.

He had denied similar rumours earlier this year.

He had said then that he was committed to his work and was focusing on economic development. – April 2, 2019.
