Show my trial live for transparency, says Najib

THE SRC International trial should be broadcast live for transparency, said Najib Razak.

“I support the live telecast as it will aid in transparency and will ensure the rule of law is adhered to,” he said in a Facebook posting today.

He also tagged a FreeMalaysiaToday.com report to his posting.

In the report, he is quoted as saying that “the people have a right to know the truth”.

After several delays, the former prime minister’s trial for money laundering, corruption and abuse of power over the transfer of money from the 1MDB subsidiary will begin on Wednesday.

An online campaign calling for the trial to be shown live on television started last year, and has so far gathered 40,000 signatures on Change.org.

Interest on airing Najib’s trial was rekindled  after the Federal Court ordered the high court to begin hearing the case next week. – March 31, 2019.
