I WENT to the West and saw Islam, but no Muslims; I got back to the East and saw Muslims, but no Islam. – Mohammad Abduh
The Islamicity latest Indices in 2017, puts New Zealand as the highest ranking in the entire world for reflecting what they refer to as Islamic values.
The indices take into account economy, legal and governance, human and political rights, international relations, and the cumulative overall.
Let us get to know a bit about Prime Minister Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern. Politician extraordinaire, she rose to be the 40th PM of New Zealand in less than 10 years of entering politics at age 37.
She was the president of the International Union of Socialist Youth but now describes herself as a social democrat and a progressive. She is the world’s youngest female head of government.
I will not repeat what happened on March 15 in Christchurch but will focus on happened next.
Ardern has confirmed Islamicity’s highest ranking and clearly demonstrated it is not a perception.
“We are one” she said.
That is a very powerful message compared to “you’re either with us, or against us”.
The latter calls for polarisation and is very damaging. Her other statements, which comes from the heart, epitomise unity and harmony. She’s the embodiment of all our hopes.
Fact is, many of the victims and family members of the deceased have expressed forgiveness to the “terrorist” that created the mayhem.
That is the true Islam, whether today or tomorrow, is all about compassion and to continue to harmoniously coexist with people of other faiths.
It was an awesome sight when hundreds of people gathered together to show rejection of the hatred and violence by linking arms and standing guard during Friday prayers, one week after the massacre.
Even Mongrel Mob biker gang turned up to stand guard.
We have had enough of hatred, hostility and violence the world over and do not need it in peaceful countries like New Zealand.
Ardern, in the unlikely event if you decide not to seek re-election in New Zealand, we need you in Malaysia.
Hatred, especially hate news in the social media seems to be uncontrollable, especially after the general election.
I pray that what happened in Christchurch will never happen in my beloved country. Again, in the unlikely event and God forbid, if it happens here, we need someone of your calibre.
The late Mohemmed Daoud Nabi, the 71-year-old man who opened the door at the Al-Noor mosque, in his final words said, “Hello brother, welcome”, we will say to you, “Hello sister, welcome.”
Ardern, I wish that you will have a long and healthy life and may God bless you.
“Mahi pai” (Maori for excellent job).
I hope this will be the last time I say our thoughts and prayers and my deepest sympathy to families of the victims because we should stop all this from happening again. – March 24, 2019

.............. In 2017, New Zealand, was the highest ranked in the Corruption Perceptions index, ie the least corrupted. By inference, the Muslims there are also the least corrupt.
On the other hand, how corrupted are our leaders, past and present? The ongoing 1MDB cases symbolizes the past.
We know that many of our politicians are "losers" in the private sectors, and enter politics as a "skim cepat kaya" to be extremely wealthy, by hook or by crook.
They are more interested in self-enrichment, lying and cheating with double speak (and "katak" here and there)" ...... ie fake qualifications to misled the public ... refuse to adhere to a "cleanup manifesto" ......... helping millionaires to become billionaires (eg, current AP distribution; with hopes of kickbacks?)......... NOT focusing to helping the poverty stricken to become middle class (unlike China and Indonesia, whose middle class grows enormously) by overhauling education and emphasizing meritocracy (so less competition to the "losers" ?) to compete with the world......, etc
It is exemplified by the fact NO top leaders dared to criticize each other (especially on the BIG BOSS) like way back when NONE dared to criticize MO1 on 1MDB.
However, in the US and UK, cabinet members just quit if they disagree with POTUS or PM.
Ours cared more about their own selfish selves than the citizens.
