I’ll be back, says Najib after Terengganu’s ‘extraordinary’ welcome

FORMER prime minister Najib Razak pledged to return to public office and said he missed serving the people after claiming to have received a rapturous welcome in Terengganu recently.

“I miss all the people,” Najib said on his Facebook account, accompanying pictures of his trip to the northeastern state yesterday.

“Even though I was here for only a day, I can sense such an extraordinary welcome and warmth.”

The former leader, who also lost his Umno presidency after Barisan Nasional’s defeat in last May’s general election, pledged to return to public office to serve the people.

“Insya-Allah, I will be back!”

“Long live the people!”

Najib has launched a charm offensive in a bid to return to power, after also suffering a massive dent to his reputation last year when he became the subject of investigations in the multi-billion-dollar 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) controversy.

Once reputed for patrician airs, he recently launched a “Malu apa bossku?” (what’s there’s to be ashamed about, boss?) public relations campaign.

Najib, who is free on bail awaiting trial, is facing 42 criminal charges relating to corruption and abuse of power in the 1MDB scandal. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. – March 24, 2019.

  • When people understand that the returns of theft can be called reseki. Najib the thief will be a hero. Somehow, no matter what, they cannot comprehend what he stole was their own money or they never paid tax.
