A STUDENT protesting against Najib Razak today was confronted and attacked by the former prime minister’s supporters.

A group of students had stood across the road from where Najib was holding a meet-and-greet session near Universiti Malaya, and held out placards and a cut-out oversized clown face caricature of the former leader.

In a video posted on Umno Supreme Council member Lokman Noor Adam’s Facebook page, Najib’s supporters confronted the student protesters .

A commotion broke out and Lokman proceeded to tear up the cardboard caricature.

Subsequently, another Najib supporter grabbed the student by his neck in a reverse chokehold and tried to pull him over the railing separating the pavement and road. Others were seen in the video pulling at the protester’s hair and attacking him.

Lokman and several other supporters then intervened and broke up the fight. The protester was then shown walking away.

Some of the placards of the protesters had read: “Arrest Najib”, “Najib is shameless”, and “Where is RM2.6 billion?”.

Najib is facing at least 41 charges of money laundering and corruption in relation to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal.

Prosecutors believe at least US$4.5 billion was misappropriated from 1MDB. Najib has denied any wrongdoing. – March 22, 2019.

  • This sort of Malay leader behind Najib, no wonder rakyat lost tens of billions. The good Malays would never believe a PM can steal billions billions from the nation. The bad Malays would choose to believe Najib is the boss as long as money continue to flow in. There are luckily some who are smart enough to throw away Umno.
