MAHB employee undergoing surgery after Subang airport accident

AN airport employee is undergoing surgery following an accident involving a private plane and an engineering vehicle on the runway of Subang’s Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport early today.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), in a statement, said the employee was driving the vehicle in the 3.20am incident.

“We are saddened to inform that our staff member, who was driving the vehicle, is critically injured. The employee is undergoing surgery, and we are ensuring that he receives the best medical care as we pray for his recovery.”

It said the passengers and crew of the aircraft were unharmed in the incident.

“MAHB has formed an investigative team, and is working closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia to investigate the cause of the accident.

“The Transport Ministry has activated its aircraft accident investigative unit to carry out a thorough investigation.”

Flights were delayed while the runway was cleared of debris, said MAHB, adding that operations resumed at 9am. – March 18, 2019.
