PAS objected to a government allocation for Sisters in Islam, which the Islamist party accused of causing discord among Muslims.

Party vice-president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the government should not be supporting the group, which is known for being outspoken in defence of women’s rights in controversial issues.

“We are very upset,” Tuan Ibrahim said of yesterday’s announcement by Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Hannah Yeoh that the ministry is setting aside funds to SIS in support of its activities.

“It is unacceptable to give (SIS funds). Why did the government give it an allocation when it is a controversial NGO that has caused disunity among the people of Islam?” he said in PAS mouthpiece, Harakah Daily.

Tuan Ibrahim said Putrajaya should be supporting groups that are “loyal to Islam and the Malays”.

The Kubang Kerian assemblyman also hit out at the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) as another movement that is under foreign influence and which champions issues against the wishes of the people.

“Movements that go against the policy of the country need to be looked at, such as human rights groups and Suhakam; some allocations need to be examined,” he said. – March 9, 2019.

  • Be upset all you want. The rakyat dont care for the views of liars and hypocrites. SIsters In Islam in fact paint a good face of Islam, unlike the PAS leaders who lie and twist facts and paint such a bad image of beautiful Islam.
In fact when PAS leaders took corrupt money from the corrupt BN Govt its ok. Thats the kind of perverted thinking these people have. Anyone who dont conform to their perverted view is unIslamic. I have a lot more respect for SIsters In Islam than any BN or PAS religious fakes.

  • Have you not heard of check and balance? Opposition views are always good to check and balance things. Its a healthy thing to do. Why do you think we have opposition parties in the country..to sit pretty??

  • Go back to your cave in Afghanistan. The federal government should not be funding extremist Malay/Muslim groups. Parties like PAS ought to be proscribed because they are threat to national unity and public safety.

  • Don't give face to these people. Don't bow to their demands. They are the ones who are creating inter-racial, inter-religions tensions. Give them an inch, and they will demand a yard. They are turning this country into Taliban Land. Not only SIS and SUHAKAM should be supported by the government, more multi-racial NGO's must be given funds for activities to unite the people of various faiths and creeds. This is a multi-racial, multi-religious, multi-cultural nation and this must be preserved at all cost.

  • PAS was soundly rejected in the last GE. Right now, voters should be given what they voted for in the Harapan manifesto, and not that of PAS nor UMNO.

Is that simple enough to understand? No more lies, about how difficult it is to fulfill your promises becuase you did not expect to win. PH does not seem to have a problem attempting to fulfill the promises of the PAS and UMNO, but seems reluctant to fulfill its own manifesto.
