Dr Mahathir says Raja Petra lying about probe into Penang exco over tunnel project

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad says Raja Petra Kamaruddin is a liar. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Najjua Zulkefli, March 1, 2019.

PRIME Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad denied claims that several Penang state executive councillors are under investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over the Penang Undersea Tunnel project. 

He said the claim, made by political blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin in an article, was a lie.

“Raja Petra is a liar. He lies all the time and you still believe him,” he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur today.

Raja Petra had recently published a series of articles alleging that several of the state excos are being investigated. 

In his latest blog post, he also said Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng is allegedly involved in corruption linked to the project. 

Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa has urged for a probe into the allegations.

He said the allegations would tarnish MACC’s reputation. 

Yesterday, Lim said he would respond to the allegations today. 

Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy said he was ready to provide evidence in court if there was proof of his involvement in the alleged corruption. – March 1, 2019.

  • Just making allegations doesn't mean it is true. Where's the evidence? Anyone can make slanderous claims like saying RPK is a paedophile without backing it up
