NAJIB Razak today called on the government to reopen probes into high-profile murders linked to him.

The former prime minister, in a Facebook post, said he instructed an aide to lodge a police report last October, urging that five cases be reopened so as to clear Najib’s name.

“For 10 years, the DAP machinery has repeatedly accused me of murdering Altantunya Shaariibuu, Anthony Kevin Morais, Hussain Najadi, Teoh Beng Hock and Ahmad Sarbani Mohamed.

“The investigation papers are with the Pakatan Harapan government. I want the allegations against me investigated so that we know who is truly responsible.

“However, four months on, PH has yet to reopen the cases.”

Najib said he hopes the revelation he made in the post, which was accompanied by a photo of the police report, will put an end to public speculation on his alleged involvement in the murders.

“If PH could accuse someone of being a serial killer, what other crimes don’t they dare to accuse someone of?

“It must be remembered that slander is a bigger sin than murder.”

Mongolian model Altantuya’s body was blown up with military-grade explosives in 2006 by Najib’s bodyguards, Sirul Azhar Umar and Azilah Hadri, who were attached to police’s Special Action Unit.
Both were sentenced to death, but Sirul fled to Australia, where he is now under detention.

Deputy public prosecutor Kevin Morais was killed in 2015, during a crackdown on investigators probing into the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal, in which Najib is implicated.

Hussain, the founder of the Arab Malaysia Development Banking Group, now known as Ambank, was shot dead in 2013. His son has said he was murdered for reporting graft.

Teoh and Sarbaini were found dead at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters after being interrogated in 2009 and 2011, respectively. – February 17, 2019.
