LAWYER-CUM-ACTIVIST Siti Kasim, who is expected to be charged on Tuesday for showing her middle finger to hecklers two years ago, has turned the tables on police.

She told The Malaysian Insight that she will take legal action against police for raiding her house last year on suspicion that she had abducted a client.

“My client, Anis Izzaty Ruslan, whom police accused me of kidnapping, and I will sue them for the midnight raid.”

This follows a Facebook post by Siti, who said she was informed by police that she will be charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code, for insulting the modesty of a person, next week.

The charge is over her giving the middle finger to hecklers at the “Pindaan Akta 355: Antara Realiti dan Persepsi” forum in 2016.

Siti then accused a Selangor top cop of trying to get her arrested, adding that he was involved in the raid on her home.

This Tuesday, Siti will be represented by lawyers Suzana Norlihan Alias and New Sin Yew. – February 8, 2019.
