PARTI Warisan Sabah today said state Law and Native Affairs Minister Aidi Moktar’s statement recognising the Bugis and Javanese ethnic groups as natives was his personal views and was not the party’s official stand.
Warisan secretary-general Loretto Padua said Aidi expressed his views without first informing the party’s leaders.
“(Aidi) is free to express his personal views, but what the public must know is that this has never been discussed at the party level,” he said in a statement today.
Yesterday, at the handing over of appointment letters to Customs leaders in Tawau, Aidi said the Warisan-led Sabah government would review the definition in the Native Interpretation Ordinance on the Bugis and Java ethnic groups, who were not included as natives.
Aidi had said it was high time the matter was reviewed so that the Bugis and Javanese people were also recognised as natives. – Bernama, February 2, 2019.

Ppl with no authority to issue statements, issue statements, and then someone from the party will say that the statement issued was NOT the official stand of the government and only a personal view!!
