Non-Muslims should not meddle in Islamic affairs, says Zahid

Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi warned non-Muslims not to interfere in Islamic affairs, less than a week after the Barisan Nasional coalition ditched a controversial bill to amend the Shariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965, or RUU355.

At the opening of the national Quran recital and memorisation assembly in Ayer Keroh, Malacca, Zahid said non-Muslims should not meddle as Islam was the official religion of Malaysia under the Federal Constitution.

  • In either State or Shari'a enactments, Muslims and Islam proscribe what words can and can't be used, fought against 60% of Christians who only have BM as their common language and use 'Allah' in the alKitab.... so I think the Deputy Prime Minister is being very unfair about telling us of other faiths not to talk about or even commend or protest (both are done) developments in Islam. We are all Malaysians, first, and what applies should be applied fairly.
